Halloween is almost here and the city of Troy will provide plenty of family fun this weekend.

The fun begins Friday, October 28 with “Pumpkins Around the Square” in downtown Troy from 3-5 p.m. Alongside a costume contest, there will be fun activities and games all afternoon with vendors and merchants handing out sweets outside their windows for “trick-or-treating”. The event is free for all, but children 13 and under must be supervised by an adult.

Afterwards, families can head to the Troy Recreation Center for even more fun with “Halloween Movie Night.” In addition to more “trick-or-treat” candies beginning at 6 p.m., the city will screen the film “Hotel Transylvania” for free on the recreation center lawn, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Free popcorn will also be available during the movie. Admission is free, attendees just need to bring a lawn chair and blanket to enjoy the film.

Anyone wishing to reserve a “Trick-or-Treat” table to hand out candy can do so by calling (334) 566-4031.

Any families hungry for some extra Halloween fun can also head to Knox Street Park on October 30 for a drive-in “Trick-or-Treat” event.

The town wraps up a fun weekend on October 31 for the Troy Public Library Halloween Party on October 31 as well. There will be games and activities for people of all ages and the party will run from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
