Walk – Don’t Run – To Medina’s Third Annual UNRun

MEDINA, Ohio — The Friends of the Medina County District Library invite you to cross the “finish line” of their race without a race for a beer, all in support of a worthy cause.

The organization’s third annual “UNRun” event is a half-mile walk between Sully’s Irish Pub and Lager Heads Brewing Co. & Tasting Room, both on West Liberty Street.

Walkers who cross the finish line will be rewarded with a beer, compliments from the organization, as well as snacks and a mini beer glass medal, according to a recent press release.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 17. There will be two departure times: the first at 1:00 p.m. from Sully’s and the second at 3:00 p.m. from Lager Heads.

“Participants experience the 5K or marathon experience… without breaking a sweat or pulling their hamstrings,” said Monica Heath, Friends Liaison and event organizer.

“We’ll have a carb refueling station halfway through, in case anyone needs fuel to finish,” she reassures potential participants.

“UNRun has been one of Friends’ most popular events in recent years. Every $5 we raise provides a new book for a child or teen who completes the library’s summer reading game.

There are only 100 places available and registration should go fast. Registration will cost $40 and will include a t-shirt if registration is received by August 10.
