The Marlins host a block party at Wynwood Walls
Opening day is approaching and the Marlins have planned a few events to build excitement.
Art meets baseball on Tuesday, when the Marlins and Major League Baseball host a block party from 3-7 p.m. ET at famed Wynwood Walls. The cost of admission will be covered as part of a league-wide “Enjoy the Show” campaign to celebrate the different ways fans can enjoy baseball on and off the field.
Those who stop by can win prizes, sample free stadium-themed bites, test their speed pitch arm, and meet Marlins alumni Gaby Sanchez and Antonio Alfonseca, mascot Billy The Marlin, and the Marlins Mermaids. Fans will receive a commemorative card from the 2022 opening, featuring a special design by one of the five artists with a QR code on the back that will unlock a special social media filter for the opening.
On Friday, the Marlins will host Opening Day watch parties at Duffy’s Sports Grill in Kendall (8575 SW 124 Ave., Miami, FL, 33183) and Fort Lauderdale (1804 Cordova Rd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 33316). There will be special prizes on local beer and signature cocktails, a live DJ and event host, and raffle giveaways for guests. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:35 p.m. ET.
