Belmont hosts watch party as Bruins take on Lady Vols

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – The Belmont Lady Bruins faced off Monday night against the Tennessee Lady Vols in Knoxville.

Belmont University hosted a Belmont Lawn Watch Party beginning at 4 p.m. for students, staff and fans.

Many fans took the bus from campus to watch the Bruins take on the Vols in Knoxville.

Kisa Robinson was heading to the game. She said she had to be there in person to cheer on her favorite team.

“They need to hear me. They’ve heard me all these years, and they just need to hear my voice,” Robinson said. “They can’t hear me from Nashville. I was there on Saturday. I went down on Saturday, came back on Sunday and cheered them on, so I have to go out there and cheer them on again.

The Lady Bruins are coming off a victory after their double overtime victory over fifth-seeded Oregon on Saturday night and the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.

The 12th seeded Belmont University women’s basketball player will make her second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Round of 16 when she takes on the subregional host at 6 p.m. inside the Thompson- Boling Arena.

“It’s amazing that we have five buses. I didn’t know we were going to have five buses,” Robinson said. “It’s so amazing that the girls have so much support. I can’t even explain what it feels like just the emotion that comes with it.
