Garden Party: Celebrating the Brock collection for the Over The Moon capsule

The Brock Collection’s new capsule for Over The Moon is a riot of flowers – and what better way to celebrate the budding partnership than with an outdoor garden party? This is exactly what happened last weekend in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina. As daylight fell to dusk, guests strolled through the city’s most historic block to the Gibbes Art Museum and down an alley that revealed a hidden courtyard for intimate dining.

With its European style and superb alley, created by living oaks with lush plantings, the botanical backdrop was perfect for evening wear rooted in flowers. There’s also a happy confidence that comes with dressing like new – and the scintillating mood of optimism could be felt by guests like bloggers Julia Berolzheimer and stylist-turned-stylist Grace Atwood. Southern charm Fan favorite Venita Aspen, celebrity swimwear designer Marysia Reeves and Over The Moon founder Alexandra Macon have arrived in their best Brock collection for Over The Moon party dresses.

“The collection was a real labor of love and features many of our favorite silhouettes,” said Macon. “We picked all the patterns and fabrics, and dug into the archives to bring back a dress that we’ve always wanted for ourselves and that we know our customers will too! ”

Surrounded by candlelight, champagne, and lots of laughs, the guests happily posed for photographer Corbin Gurkin (who, for fun, also filmed Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ wedding in the south of France.) – of past work, the servers carried floating trays from Chandon; the signature cocktail was a Garden Spritz served in jewel-toned champagne glasses from Estelle Colored Glass, finished with an edible flower garnish.

Brock’s iconic perennials also inspired event planner Augusta Cole, who shaped the night away with items from the Over The Moon ecommerce site, including the lavish table setting covered in linen. home of Istanbul designer Loulou La Dune. “The trompe-l’oeil prints spoke to us because they had an Old World French influence that seemed to match the Brock collection,” said Cole. Rather than limiting the look to a placemat and napkins, Cole opted for a custom tablecloth in the same pattern. “We wanted to do all the decor for the table in flowers! “

During a sit-down dinner that started with crème fraîche and caviar, guests reread and instagrammed every detail, like Issy Granger’s wine glasses made by Egyptian artisans in Cairo, or painted ZdG tableware. handmade by Zoë de Givenchy and cutlery from Saber de France. “We have the pleasure of working with incredible suppliers who are setting our table tonight,” said Over The Moon Purchasing Director Emilie Ghilaga in her speech. “We are very attentive to the suppliers and the products we choose. We make sure there is a story behind every item so you buy things that you know will last for generations.

The surprise ending came moments before dessert, when the Charlie bows from the Brock collection for the Over The Moon capsule were served on a platter, to the delight of the guests. “I love the party stuff! Cole joked. “It’s fun to interact with the collection and play dress up at the table.” Adding: “Now everyone has a fabulous night tribute to display in town. “
